Challenge

Noir Atelier is a tailor who had grown from one shop in Chiado to three across Lisbon. The old brand was a gold script logo that looked like every other menswear shop, and the new shops needed signs, bags, cards and a way to make an expensive suit feel personal again. The owner's brief was one word: quieter. Nothing could feel like a chain store, even with three doors.

02

Approach

We drew a narrow wordmark from the tailor's own chalk marks and printed everything black on black — foil on uncoated board, deboss on the bags, a single thread colour on the labels. Each client receives a card with their measurements written by hand. Shop fronts carry only the name, cut in brushed steel at eye height. Fitting rooms got one oak bench and nothing else.

03

Outcome

Average order value rose 54 % across the three shops within a year, and repeat bookings now make up most of the diary. The black-on-black stationery became something clients keep. The owner says the brand finally sounds like the people who make the suits, and a fourth shop opens in Porto next spring. Staff hand out fewer leaflets and more cards.
